According to the Argentine News Agency (NA), the sports journalist injured one of his hands in the run-up to the ceremony and had to go to a medical center to treat a deep wound. The incident became public when Edul himself, along with Tefi Russo, recounted the accident that forced him to seek medical attention. 'We're fine,' he wrote, accompanied by a smiling emoji, in a photo showing him with the professional who performed the suturing. Edul was supposed to present the nominees with a colleague, but that colleague was in a sanatorium with a severed hand and had to leave. 'Now I'm going to get checked out and come to the pre-event impeccably, because this is also a battle,' he added humorously. The journalist calmly went to the nearest sanatorium and then shared his medical report on social media. After recovering, he arrived at the event and did not show the bandage during the broadcast. Later, during the ceremony, Sofía Martínez mentioned the episode from the stage when presenting the nominee for Voz Periodística: 'Before I announce the winner, I send a big kiss to Gastón Edul.' The incident happened when he tried to separate frozen meat at home. 'Never separate two frozen beef cuts with a knife,' he said bluntly, surprising Joaquín 'Pollo' Álvarez.
